In a significant move for India’s electric vehicle (EV) landscape, Bengaluru-based startup Simple Energy has announced the expansion of deliveries for its flagship electric scooter, the Simple One, to 10 new cities across the country.
This development marks a major milestone for the homegrown company, which has been in the spotlight since the scooter’s unveiling in 2021.

The Expansion Rollout
The company has officially begun deliveries in cities including Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, Kochi, Ahmedabad, Surat, Jaipur, Indore, and Delhi. These cities were chosen based on growing EV demand, charging infrastructure improvements, and early customer bookings.
Initially, Simple Energy had started deliveries in Bengaluru, where the first batch of scooters reached customers in 2023. After a phased approach and overcoming manufacturing and regulatory hurdles, the company is now widening its reach, triggering fresh excitement in the EV market.
Early User Impressions Start Pouring In
As deliveries begin, early impressions from customers and EV enthusiasts are beginning to surface across social media and online forums. Most of the feedback revolves around three aspects — performance, design, and real-world range.
Customers in Chennai and Pune have reported smooth rides and minimal noise, something expected from an EV but still impressive when experienced firsthand. In Hyderabad, users noted the pickup to be “surprisingly quick,” considering the scooter’s urban commuting design.
Several first-time EV owners praised the design aesthetics and finish quality. “It doesn’t look like a typical electric scooter — it feels sporty and premium,” shared a buyer from Mumbai.
However, some users also pointed out areas for improvement. A few mentioned delays in the onboarding process and confusion regarding the setup of the companion mobile app. Others raised questions about after-sales support, which Simple Energy says it is scaling up in all 10 cities through local partners.
What Makes the Simple One Stand Out?
The Simple One EV comes with a claimed range of over 200 kilometers on a single charge, a figure that has been a major talking point. In real-world conditions, early users report an average range between 160 to 180 kilometers — still a notable figure for daily commutes.
The scooter also features a removable battery system, fast charging options, a touchscreen dashboard, and connectivity features that allow riders to monitor performance metrics and track their rides through a mobile app.
With rising petrol prices and growing environmental concerns, many urban commuters are turning toward electric two-wheelers as a practical and cost-effective alternative. The Simple One is entering this space with a feature-rich offering, but competition remains stiff, especially from brands like Ola Electric, Ather Energy, and TVS.
The Road Ahead for Simple Energy
With deliveries expanding, Simple Energy now faces the critical task of maintaining quality, managing service demands, and fulfilling customer expectations in diverse regions. While the product has generated curiosity and enthusiasm, consistent after-sales service and network support will be key to long-term success.
The EV startup has also hinted at plans to further expand into Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities in the coming months. Additionally, the company is exploring partnerships to develop charging infrastructure and improve accessibility for rural and semi-urban users.

Final Thoughts
The expansion of Simple One deliveries to 10 new cities marks a defining chapter not only for Simple Energy but for India’s broader electric mobility journey. As EV adoption picks up speed, real-world feedback from users across different geographies will play a crucial role in shaping the direction of new-age two-wheeler mobility in the country.
