In a major update that’s grabbing attention in India’s electric vehicle (EV) space, Tork Motors has refreshed its flagship electric motorcycle – the Tork Kratos R – for 2025. The Pune-based company is now positioning the updated Kratos R as one of the most advanced and longest-range electric bikes currently available in the Indian market. But does it live up to that claim?

Let’s take a closer look at what’s new, what’s improved, and whether it truly deserves the title of India’s longest-range EV bike.

Tork Kratos R Updated for 2025

What’s New in the 2025 Tork Kratos R?

The 2025 version of the Kratos R comes with a series of upgrades that aren’t just cosmetic but also deeply functional. The most significant change is the claimed range. According to the company, the updated Kratos R now offers a certified range of up to 180 km on a single charge, a bump from the previous version’s 120 km. This puts it right at the top among currently available electric motorcycles in India in terms of range.

In addition to range, Tork has reworked the battery management system and optimized the motor for better efficiency. The peak power output now stands at 9 kW, which translates to roughly 12 bhp. The top speed remains limited to 105 km/h, making it suitable for both city commuting and occasional highway rides.

Improved Riding Experience

Another noticeable change is the ride quality and build refinement. The 2025 Kratos R now gets upgraded suspension tuning, revised footpeg positioning for better comfort, and a sturdier seat that aims to handle long rides with more ease.

For tech-savvy riders, the bike continues to offer features like riding modes, regenerative braking, reverse assist, and over-the-air updates, all accessible through a smartphone app. Tork has also improved the UI of its digital instrument cluster for better visibility and user interaction.

Fast Charging and Battery Specs

The Kratos R comes with a 4 kWh battery pack, which supports fast charging. Tork claims a 0–80% charge in under 60 minutes when using a fast charger. With the expansion of Tork’s charging network across major cities, long-distance commuting may become more viable for electric bike owners.

However, in cities where public charging infrastructure is still developing, relying on home charging may continue to be the more practical choice for most users.

How It Compares with Rivals

Currently, the electric motorcycle space in India is still in its early stages. Rivals like the Revolt RV400 and Oben Rorr offer competitive specs, but on paper, the updated Kratos R outshines them in terms of claimed range and motor output.

While Revolt focuses more on affordability and Oben on performance, the Kratos R appears to strike a balance between both, making it a strong contender in the mid-premium electric two-wheeler segment.

Price and Availability

The ex-showroom price of the updated Kratos R is around ₹1.87 lakh (depending on state subsidies and FAME II benefits). Tork continues to offer doorstep delivery and has announced expansion into more cities in 2025.

Bookings are already open, and deliveries are expected to begin in Q2 of this year.

Is It Really the Longest Range EV Bike?

While the 180 km range is certainly impressive, it’s important to note that real-world range often varies based on road conditions, riding style, and load. That said, among mass-market electric motorcycles currently available in India, the Tork Kratos R does lead the pack on paper.

It may not replace traditional petrol-powered bikes for everyone just yet, but it does indicate how far Indian EV technology has come.

Final Thoughts

The 2025 update of the Tork Kratos R shows that the Indian EV scene is evolving quickly. While it’s still early days for electric motorcycles, bikes like the Kratos R are pushing the envelope in range, features, and design.

Whether it becomes the go-to electric bike for Indian riders will depend on real-world performance, service support, and charging convenience—but for now, it’s definitely one of the most talked-about launches of the year.
