India’s commuter bike market is heating up again, and this time, it’s a face-off between two stylish, feature-packed 125cc motorcycles — the TVS Raider 125 and the Hero Glamour XTEC. Both bikes are aimed at young, urban riders who want more than just fuel efficiency.

With aggressive styling, smart features, and sporty dynamics, the battle for the best youth commuter is officially on.

Design Battle – Sporty vs Sophisticated

The TVS Raider 125 brings a fresh and aggressive look to the table. It flaunts a muscular fuel tank, a unique LED headlamp with DRLs, and a split seat setup that screams sportiness. In contrast, the Hero Glamour XTEC opts for a more refined and mature design with chrome accents, a sharp headlamp, and semi-digital instrumentation.

While the Raider appeals more to college-goers and young office commuters who want a sporty stance, the Glamour XTEC balances modern looks with a bit of executive charm.

Digital Dash and Tech Features

In terms of technology, both bikes come prepared. The Raider 125 features a fully digital LCD instrument cluster, offering real-time mileage, gear position, and ride modes (Eco and Power). It even includes a USB charging port and optional Bluetooth connectivity in the top variant.

The Hero Glamour XTEC, however, counters with its Bluetooth-enabled console that allows turn-by-turn navigation, call and SMS alerts, and real-time mileage indicators. It also has a side-stand engine cut-off and LED headlamps, giving it a slight edge on utility.

Engine Performance and Ride Quality

Power-wise, the Raider 125 houses a 124.8cc air-cooled engine producing around 11.2 bhp and 11.2 Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed gearbox. The engine feels peppy, and the bike accelerates smoothly, especially in Power mode.

On the other hand, the Glamour XTEC is equipped with a 124.7cc single-cylinder engine that delivers 10.7 bhp and 10.6 Nm, also with a 5-speed gearbox. While not as aggressive as the Raider, it offers a refined and linear power delivery that suits daily commuting and city cruising.

Fuel Efficiency Comparison

Fuel efficiency still remains a key decision-making factor in India. The TVS Raider claims a mileage of around 55-60 kmpl, depending on riding style and mode. Meanwhile, the Hero Glamour XTEC sticks close with a claimed efficiency of 60-65 kmpl, especially when ridden conservatively.

Ride Comfort and Suspension Setup

The Raider uses telescopic front forks and a mono-shock at the rear, offering a balanced and slightly sporty ride. The Glamour XTEC features telescopic front forks and hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear, tuned more towards comfort on uneven city roads.

For long daily commutes, the Glamour XTEC might feel a bit more forgiving, while the Raider holds an edge in handling sharp turns and spirited riding.

Pricing and Variants

Price plays a huge role for young buyers. The TVS Raider 125 is priced around ₹95,000 to ₹1.03 lakh (ex-showroom) depending on the variant. The Hero Glamour XTEC comes in slightly lower, priced around ₹88,000 to ₹94,000 (ex-showroom).

Both bikes offer solid value for money, but the Raider edges slightly higher in terms of features and performance.

Final Verdict – Which One Wins?

Choosing between the TVS Raider 125 and Hero Glamour XTEC boils down to what a rider wants from their commuter.

  • Go for the Raider 125 if you’re after sporty looks, youthful energy, and spirited performance.
  • Choose the Glamour XTEC if you want a comfortable, feature-rich, and slightly more practical daily rider with excellent fuel efficiency.

Both bikes are winners in their own right, and in this face-off, the real champion depends on the rider’s lifestyle.
